All students must pass the following course prior to high school graduation:
• Personal Financial Literacy
Accounting II is an honors accounting course.
This honors course develops abilities that help students read and analyze financial statements of companies. Students study financial accounting and managerial accounting. This course has a strong focus building the student’s financial analytical abilities. Entrepreneurship II is designed to provide students with skills needed to effectively problem solve, organize, develop, create, and manage a business. This course is offered in conjunction with the University of Iowa’s BizInnovator. Students will be able to gain 3 college credits if they choose to take a cumulative assessment at the end of the course and earn the minimum score.

The Standards Aligned System (SAS), developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, is a comprehensive, researched-based resource to improve student achievement. All BCIT curricula is written based upon these standards available on SAS. Read more about these standards here.
The Business, Computer, and Information Technology Standards describe what students should know and be able to do in the field of business education at all grade levels. The standards provide the targets for instruction and student learning essential for success in all academic areas, not just business classrooms.
