Student Accounts

  • Username Format

    The student username is a combination of the student's anticipated graduation year, last name, and the first letter of first name. Please see the examples below.

    • Username Format = anticipated graduation year + last name + first letter of first name
    • Sample Username =  34 smith  +  j
    • Final Example: 34smithj

     

    Login Issues?

    If there are issues with accounts/services accepting the username or email account, please check:

    • If the CAPS LOCK is turned on
    • For extra blank spaces at the beginning or end of the username/email account


    If login problems persist, please reach out for technical support.

New Students

  • What to expect:

    • Contact a classroom teacher or guidance counselor to obtain district login credentials (username, email address, and password).
    • Contact a classroom teacher when having issues logging in to district systems.
    • Students in grades 4 through 12 may view course grades, report cards, and progress reports, daily attendance, and building announcements through the PowerSchool mobile app (App Store / Google Play).
    • Secondary students submit course requests for the upcoming school year through PowerSchool in the spring of each year.

Exiting Students

  • Students moving / withdrawing / etc. from the District

    • Be sure to return the issued iPad/charger/cable before leaving.
      • Elementary students should return the device to the Homeroom teacher
      • Middle school students should return the device to the Guidance Office
      • High school students:
        • For Grades 9 & 10, return the device to the Buchanan Guidance Office 
        • For Grades 11 & 12, return the device to the Franklin Guidance Office
    • Account Access
      • Removal of account access occurs within 24 hours of the withdrawal date.
    • After withdrawal from the district, students will no longer have access to Google Workspace, Office 365, or student emails. The Technology Department recommends that if you wish to retain any documents/files, follow the directions below prior to leaving the district:
      • Documents/files stored on the iPad: Copy files to Google Drive.
      • Google Drive documents/files: Use Google Takeout to transfer your content.
      • Office 365: Manually download any files to another computer or external drive.

Graduating Students

  • After Graduation:

    • After graduation, seniors will lose access to district services such as Google Workspace, Office 365, and student emails. The Technology Department recommends that students follow the directions below prior to June 30th if they wish to retain any documents/files.

      • Google Drive documents/files: Use Google Takeout to transfer your content.
