  • If necessary, families may apply for free or reduced-priced meals at any time during the school year. An application must be completed each school year.

    Do I Need to Apply for Free or Reduced Meals?

    If an application is necessary, please choose one of the three methods to apply:

    Hempfield School District SchoolCafé

    This online process is fast and easy to follow, offering a step-by-step process that is confidential and allows for quicker approval processing. Visit SchoolCafé to apply online. Step-by-step instructions on how to apply using SchoolCafé can be found to the right under Resources. If you do not have computer access, a computer is available in the Food Services Office to complete this application.

    Online State Application

    COMPASS, a system used by the Department of Public Welfare, allows Pennsylvanians to apply for programs, such as Free & Reduced Price School Meals, Food Stamps, Energy Assistance, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), etc. 

    Paper Application

    Paper applications are available only upon request and should be returned to school with your child. If you have questions or need assistance in completing your application, contact the Food Services office at (717) 898-5566.
