Welcome to HHS Counseling Office
-
The mission of the Hempfield School District Counseling Department is to provide a progressive, comprehensive, and data-driven K-12 school counseling program addressing the academic, career, and social/emotional developmental needs of all students.
School counselors provide a variety of services for students and families. Counselors work with education support teams; manage 504 Accommodation Plans; help students transition to a new school or grade level; and conduct mediation sessions, as well as individual and small group counseling. The HHS Counseling Office is on Schoology!
All students should have been placed into a "Class of" Schoology course based on their graduation year. Students and families have access to this course to view resources and other information shared by the Counseling Office. Please check this page often to review information on post-secondary planning, resources, and special events offered throughout the course of the school year.
Counselor Assignments
Counselor assignments will work in the following way: the 9th grade counselors will follow their students through tenth grade and will loop back to 9th grade. 11th grade counselors will loop with their students through 12th grade. This two-year loop will provide students with support aimed at the unique opportunities each grade presents. The ninth and tenth grade years will focus on acclimating to high school, promoting career awareness and planning for high school. In eleventh and twelfth grade, we will continue to focus on enhancing academic and personal/social skills, but we will place an even greater emphasis on post-secondary planning and offering opportunities here at Hempfield High School.
