Grade 9 Information

  • Hello Freshman (and Freshman Families):

Welcome to HHS, your new ‘home” for the next four years.

I am sure you are thinking back to your elementary and middle school days and wondering, “how am I already in high school” – students if you are not, your parents/guardians certainly are. The transition from middle school to high school brings with it many emotions: the anxiety of moving to a larger school where students from both middle schools come together as a graduating class and the excitement of all the offerings at HHS – the many options for curricular choices, clubs/WIN5 clubs, music/theater/art programming, and athletics, to name a few.

At the high school, we focus on PRIDE: Perseverance, Respect, Involvement, Discipline, and Excellence. You will hear about PRIDE for the next four years and I hope that you use this term to guide your daily decisions and actions.

With the start of 9th grade, I encourage you to get involved and become an active member of our school community. My goal is for each of you to find success, but that success may look differently for you and your family. Whatever that success looks like, I want you to be your best self each and every day!

Please reach out to me or your school counselors if you ever need anything or we can be of assistance to support you. Here’s to a great start of your high school career.

    Go Black Knights!
Dr. Becker, HHS 9th Grade Principal
