Obtaining a Student Work Permit
-
Students may obtain a work permit application by either:
- Coming to the Franklin Office during their WIN period or at the end of the school day to fill out the application. The parent does not need to be present to obtain the application; however, the student would need to take the application home to obtain a parent/guardian signature before being issued the permit.
- Going to the PA Department of Education’s website and downloading the application, filling it out, and obtaining a parent/guardian signature.
- Summer hours: Visit the Franklin Office between the hours of 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Once the application has been filled out and signed by a parent/guardian and has been returned to the office, applicants may appear before a school issuing officer virtually or in-person to obtain the actual permit. If your student is enrolled in the district, no other documentation is necessary. If you live in the district but your student is not enrolled in the district, please provide a birth certificate or passport.
If you have any questions, please call (717) 898-5520.
