    This Week at HHS

    Principal’s Message

    HHS Community,

As one journey ends, another begins. Tuesday is the last day of the first semester. On Wednesday we will begin new courses. Courses, WIN periods, and Lunches are all now visible in PowerSchool. As a reminder, we do not change schedules for lunches. Please do not reach out to your counselor about your lunch.

This Tuesday we will meet as a school to discuss the upcoming semester. We will review HHS expectations, provided some updates, shared some insights from our student listening sessions, look at some upcoming events for this semester, and enjoy performances by the HIPE Drumline and our new HHS Dance Team.

Counselors are in the process of holding grade level WIN assemblies with our students to review Class Choice and course selection. Our HHS 2025-2026 course selection guide can be found HERE. I will share an E-News post regarding course selection later this week.

Finally, our students did a wonderful job of being ALL IN for HHS this first semester. They accomplished so much, helped so many people, and grew in so many ways. I am filled with so much pride for our school and our student body. The future is looking bright at HHS, and I am so excited to see all that our students will accomplish this spring.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

  • Stay Warm—Sign Up for Stopfinder Today!

Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 1/15/2025 2:00:00 PM

Next week’s forecast calls for freezing temperatures, but there’s no need for you or your child to wait outside in the cold. Use the Stopfinder app to know exactly when your bus will arrive.

    The Stopfinder app will:

    • Track your child’s bus in real time.
    • Share access with caregivers, other guardians, and even the student.
    • Receive push notifications with important transportation updates.
    • Communicate directly with our transportation office through two-way messaging.

If your child receives bus transportation, and you’re not yet registered, the primary contact as listed in PowerSchool should have received an email earlier today with instructions. If you do not see an email with the title "Welcome to Stopfinder," please be sure to check your junk/spam folders. That email should contain all the links and instructions to get started using Stopfinder.

Still have questions? We’re here to help! Email transportation@hempfieldsd.org for assistance.

    Stay warm and safe!

    This Week at HHS

    Principal’s Message

    HHS Community,

I’d like to start by thanking everyone for a wonderful job of handling the weather interruptions, special keystone schedules, and road construction last week. Our student body responded like champions to these challenges. We have one more special keystone schedule this Monday. We will also need to adjust to more significant Kauffman Rd. Closures this week.

From our start in August until this second week of January we’ve come a long way. This week students and teachers will be wrapping up their courses, putting the finishing touches on any culminating projects, and some of our students will still be completing Keystone Exams. Next Tuesday, we will gather in the PAC for an assembly to discuss course selection, review rules and expectations, and to highlight upcoming events that students have planned for HHS.

Next Wednesday we will start anew with our second semester courses.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

  • Kauffman Road Closure

Posted by Bill Brossman on 1/12/2025 12:00:00 PM

LASA is continuing with the sewer pipe replacement along Kauffman Road. This week (1/13-1/17), the road closure will extend from Wissler Way (near the entrance of Hempfield Crossing) to Mumma Drive between the hours of 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The road will be open outside those times. Please follow the detour signs when traveling to and from one of the schools on the Landisville Campus next week.

HHS Student Drivers arriving after 8:15am will need to access the stadium and quad lots via Mumma Dr. from Church Street. Students will NOT be able to get to the student lots from Stony Battery Rd. When walking from their cars to HHS, students parked in the stadium and quad lots will need to use caution and follow directions to navigate the construction taking place near the intersection of Kauffman Rd. and Mumma Dr.
