A school counselor provides a variety of services to students and families including individual and small group counseling. Other responsibilities include working with education support teams, managing 504 Accommodation Plans, helping students transition to a new school or grade level, and conducting mediations.

The mission of the Hempfield School District Counseling Department is to provide a progressive, comprehensive, and data-driven K-12 school counseling program addressing the academic, career, and social/emotional developmental needs of all students.
