Posted by Kyle Gamble on 12/13/2024 8:00:00 AM

We are thrilled to announce Open Registration for HYA Softball’s 2025 Spring season for Age Divisions 8U-14U.

Online registration started on 12/01/2024 and will close on 1/10/2025. https://www.playhya.com/

During registration, Division placement is based on the Birthday date as of September 1st. There will be an option to play up a division, depending on evaluation placement.

The registration page will show the age group your daughter is in according to the age chart USA Softball. Play-up REQUEST will be given during the question portion of the registration page.

ALL players EXCEPT 8U are required to attend a 1-day evaluation.

Practices are scheduled during the week and OPTIONAL practices on weekends, with days and locations provided once teams are determined.

Volunteer Opportunities: If you're interested in volunteering, register under the volunteer section. Background clearances are required. Consider volunteering for a committee or Coach.

Discounted rates for ALL coaches. Adjustments will be made to account once confirmed and requirements have been met.

Financial Assistance: We believe every child should have the chance to play softball. Reach out to Jeff Kish at jkishest82@gmail.com for potential registration assistance.

    LMS Week At A Glance

    Principal’s Message
Friday morning I spoke about the December character trait of the month, responsibility, on WLMS.  I shared that this applies to completing tasks they are responsible for completing at school, like homework, but also to chores and other things they are asked to do at home.  I shared that when they are asked to clean up their room, do the dishes, or put away their laundry, being responsible looks like them following through without needing to be reminded consistently or hounded to do so. I shared that responsibility is what allows others to take us at our word when we tell them we will do or take care of something.  If you have some time this month, speak with your children about areas where you see them demonstrating responsibility and an area where you see them being able to improve.

Student Council will be holding our second dance (Winter Wonder Dance) of the year on Friday, December 13 . Students love this opportunity to have fun with friends, play some dodgeball, enjoy some snacks and show off their dance skills on the dance floor. We hope your student will plan to come! Tickets will be sold at all student lunches on Thursday and Friday this week for $3 per ticket, or at the door on Friday for $5. Parents can plan to drop off/pick up at the cafeteria doors. We would still appreciate your support through snack donations or by volunteering your time. Take a look at what’s needed: Snack Donations & Volunteers Needed

  • Thank You for Supporting the Hempfield Foundation during ExtraGive

Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 11/26/2024 2:00:00 PM

Hempfield families helped the Hempfield Foundation raise $17,540 online during last week’s ExtraGive! This will have a huge impact on their ability to support Hempfield teachers and staff through their teacher grant program. These funds will also help with the Foundation’s All HSD Staff Appreciation event in March/April 2025. If you missed ExtraGive, there is a second opportunity to help the Foundation happening this weekend. The Foundation will be part of The Gifts that Give Hope Fair on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 11am-4pm at the Farm & Home Center located at 1383 Arcadia Road in Lancaster. In addition to meeting folks from the Foundation, there will be food trucks, vendors, and a whole lot of holiday cheer. Thanks!
