  • Mr. Sharp Named Best in the State

Posted by Shannon Zimmerman on 11/17/2017 11:30:00 AM

    Mr. Stephen Sharp

Congratulations to Mr. Stephen Sharp, School Counselor at LMS who was recently named 2017-18 Middle School Counselor of the Year by the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association. This recognition is very difficult to obtain as  school counselors are competing against nominees statewide.

The criteria to be selected is extremely data-driven. Potential candidates must demonstrate that they are facilitating a program that meets specific criteria, is modeled after national best practices, and targets educational barriers to eliminate achievement gaps thus meeting the academic, social-emotional, and career needs of EVERY student.

We are very proud of Mr. Sharp and thankful for the great service he provides to our students!

  • Districtwide Clothing Drive

Posted by Shannon Zimmerman on 11/14/2017 10:55:00 AM

Individuals and families within our district who are in need of clothing can visit the district clothing bank located at Landisville Mennonite Church, 3320 Bowman Road in Landisville. At this time, the clothing bank is in need of cold-weather clothing, such as coats and hoodies, and has a crucial need for casual shoes for boys and men. However, the clothing bank will accept any gently used clothing and particularly appreciates “newer” clothing styles that may appeal to students.

During the week of December 4-8, clothing donations can be dropped off at door D1, the Student Service Office, located at the Hempfield School District Administration Building, 200 Church Street in Landisville. If you have any questions about the clothing bank or this clothing drive, please call 717-459-9003.
