The last Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council (SPAC) meeting of the 2016-17 school year was held on Monday, June 5. The agenda included the following topics:
The Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council (SPAC) is a district-level organization, which works to update parents on K-12 district initiatives and changes in policy and procedure. Parents are nominated to serve on this council by their school principal and aid in giving highly valued perspective to current and upcoming district interests.
As part of our school district’s comprehensive goals, we will be piloting a student climate survey. Because of the availability of 1:1 iPad devices, we are limiting access to the online survey at the elementary and middle levels to Grades 4 and 7.
Principals are working with the appropriate grade level teams to provide 10 minutes during the school day to complete this survey prior to the end of the school year. Students at the high school will be provided time during their flex period go take the survey and may either take the survey on a school device or on their personal device.
All survey submissions are logged but are not attributable to any one student. Results will be reviewed at the district level and provided to the building principal so that we can develop necessary action steps based on the information provided by students. Based on this initial, limited administration of the survey, we will review results and make improvements to the survey prior to seeking to administer it more broadly next year.
If you would like to preview the survey, please contact the Communications Office.
