  • 8th Grade Field Day

Posted by Clint Willman on 5/13/2025 4:45:00 PM

    Good afternoon,

The following is information is for the parents of  8th graders. You should have received the following flyer at home from your student this week:

    Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is to inform you that the 8th grade will be having a field day at A. Herr Park on Friday, May 16th. The rain date for this activity is Friday, May 30th. Please be sure that students have their iPads and class materials at school on Friday (5/16) if the rain date is in effect. This will be communicated if needed on Schoology on Thursday (5/15) evening.

On Friday, the students will be walking, supervised by police escort and staff, to A. Herr Park with their teams. They will be playing organized games such as kickball, volleyball, soccer, basketball and more. Additionally, there will be stations that include arts and crafts, board games, free shaved ice, popcorn, and a chance to be a SUMO WRESTLER (waiver at the bottom must be signed and returned by 5/14 to participate).

The students will be eating a pre-ordered cafeteria lunch or a packed lunch from home. Any student bringing a packed lunch should pack items that do not need to be refrigerated. Filled water bottles are encouraged, and there will be water coolers available to the students throughout the day. Students should bring sunscreen and dress appropriately for a day of activity; sneakers are recommended. School appropriate dress is required, and all school behavior rules will apply. Students may also want to bring a beach towel to sit on for some of the station activities and even a book to read. Students with significant discipline will not be permitted to attend. Students will be informed if this situation applies to them. This is sure to be an enjoyable day for all students!

*If you do not want your child to participate in this day, please email Mr. Eli Cox, principal, by Thursday, May 15th: eli_cox@hempfieldsd.org.

We look forward to a fun day,

The 8th grade teachers of Landisville Middle School
