  • CMS Students Visit Business

Posted by Susan Allen on 9/13/2024 11:00:00 AM
Several CMS students had a chance to tour Advanced Cooling Technologies located at Burle Industries.  Students learned about many innovative projects related to satellites, energy production and even the development of vaccines among many other things.  A huge thanks to Advanced Cooling Technologies for hosting us and allowing us to meet some of the engineers, technicians, sales representatives and research and development consultants who make these incredible products possible.
The CMS Guidance office offers several opportunities for students to visit area businesses throughout the school year. These are published to students in Schoology and via WCMS announcements.

  • Important Update on False Threat

Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 9/12/2024 1:00:00 PM

This week, an online school threat has been circulating across several states, including here at Hempfield. Once we were made aware of it, our Safety and Security team immediately investigated the threat in collaboration with the Lancaster County Threat Advisory Group. This group has direct access to the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and Homeland Security. After a thorough investigation, it was determined the threat was unfounded and originated in Georgia and a similar one in Florida. We are confident this hoax has no connection to Hempfield School District.

Please be assured that all threats are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We also encourage students to report any suspicious behavior or online threats to an adult or through PA’s Safe2Say, so the appropriate authorities can be notified.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe school environment.

These need to be returned to the main office no later than the end of the day on Monday, September 16th. This is open to all 7th and 8th grade students.
