Welcome Officer Brown!
Posted by Lisa Mumma on 10/11/2024 5:00:00 AMWe are excited to welcome Officer Brown as the second School Resource Officer (SRO) in the Hempfield School District. Starting in January, he will spend most of his time supporting our middle schools. Officer Brown is committed to building trust and maintaining open communication with students, staff, and families. His proactive approach allows him to intervene early, preventing issues from escalating and fostering a more positive and safe school environment.

Parent Webinar from 7:00 — 8:00 tonight

Topics discussed at the webinar will include an overview of the brain and developmental milestones and tools and strategies to help your student with executive function skills. There will be an answer and question session at the end.

Intramural Basketball Registration Open (10/1 - 12/1) - HYA Intramural Basketball is a program designed to build an understanding of how to play the game of basketball, in an inviting and fun environment. Registration opened today and will be available through 12/1. Please go to www.playhya.com to register. Click on the Registration Info, Available Programs.
- Preseason clinics are projected for November and December
- Season will be 1st week of January through approximately first week of March
Travel Basketball (Boys - 4th-6th Grade, & Girls - 5th-6th Grade):
Travel - This is specifically for kids that are looking for a more competitive environment. Tryouts for boys and girls will be the week of 10/14. Registrants should be in the appropriate grade they are registering for with HYA, playing up is not an option.
Girls Travel - This year HYA is adding the travel program for 5th and 6th grade girls that was previously housed under the High School Booster Club, we are excited for this program add and are working closely with the booster club to make a smooth/strong transition.
Girls Travel Basketball Information:
- Girls Registration (5th & 6th Grade Travel) -- Open now at Play HYA under the Registration Info Tab. Registration will close 10/14, don't wait, don't be late.
- Girls Tryouts (5th & 6th Grade Travel) -- They will be October 15th and 16th
- Girls Open Gyms/Preseason Workouts (All 5th & 6th Grade) - Mondays & Thursday (Starting 9/16), at Landisville Middle School from 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Boys Travel Basketball Information:
- Boys Registration (4th, 5th & 6th Grade Travel) -- Open now at Play HYA under the Registration Info Tab. Registration will close 10/14, don't wait, don't be late.
- Boys Tryouts (4th, 5th & 6th Grade Travel) -- They will be October 15th, 16th and 19th
- Boys Open Gyms/Preseason Workouts (All 4th, 5th & 6th Grade) - Mondays & Wednesdays (Starting 9/18), at Landisville Intermediate Center from 6:30 - 8:00 PMPlease register and get more information at www.playhya.com
