  • Health and Safety Statement: December 1, 2021

Posted by Kimberly Snyder on 12/1/2021 12:45:00 PM

On November 16, 2021, we communicated that the Commonwealth Court ruled that the Department of Health’s automatic supersedeas (stay) in the Corman et al. v. Beam appeal will be lifted on December 4, 2021. The PA Department of Health filed an emergency application to reinstate its automatic supersedeas during its appeal. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued an order on November 30, 2021 that reinstates the mask order until the Court has the opportunity to hear the case and issue a final ruling.

As a result, absent further Court action, masks are required to be worn in our schools until further notice per our Board approved Health and Safety Plan. If someone has an approved medical exemption, that exemption remains in place.

As a reminder, students are also required to continue wearing masks on school buses.

We will continue to update information on the Coronavirus Update Center on our website as additional information becomes available.

Hempfield School District is happy to see our community of runners and walkers enjoying our campuses. To help keep everyone safe, we remind you to please be sure to wear bright or reflective clothing to increase your visibility to others in the morning and evening hours when it is especially dark.
