Below is the message that I shared with students at the end of the school day today. 

Thank you for supporting our students throughout the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

Good Afternoon Hempfield,

I just wanted to take a moment to share that I am thankful for each and every one in this building.

On the first day of school, I shared with you that our theme for this year would be ALL IN. After years of disruption and uncertainty, this wasn’t just a slogan. It was a mindset. A challenge. A call to action. And throughout this year you answered that call.

ALL IN means showing up—not just in body, but in heart, in mind, and in purpose. It means taking risks even when the outcome is uncertain. It means giving your best effort, not halfway, but fully. You did that—in your own way, every day.

As we break for the summer, I urge you to continue to be ALL IN for yourselves and remember that mediocrity is the enemy of progress. Be sure to take some time for yourself this summer to grow, to explore, to mature, to make new friends, and to move on from friendships you’ve outgrown.

However, you spend your time this summer, be it…at a job, a summer camp, preparing for your sports season, practicing an instrument, taking a vacation, watching over your siblings or just relaxing. Remember the commitment you’ve made this year. You’ve shown what it means to give your best effort, to be fully committed, and to show up for yourselves and each other. Keep that same energy alive. Whatever you do, go ALL IN.

Thank you for all that you’ve done to help make Hempfield an amazing place. We are so excited to see what you have in store for us next year. As you go about your summer, please be safe, make good decisions, hug your loved ones, and we will see you back here at HHS in August.

Principal’s Message

 

HHS Community,

We are down to our final three days of school. Please take note that on Wednesday we will dismiss at Noon and we will not be serving lunch. Families with seniors, please be sure to reference the Senior Reminders post that I shared this past Thursday.

With this being the last week of school, it is time for us to collect iPads from our Seniors and our Freshman. iPad collection information has been shared with students via Schoology. Hempfield School District leases iPads for 3 years. Seniors do not get to keep their iPad when they graduate. Freshman must return their iPad so that they can be issued a new device that they will keep for grades 10, 11, and 12. The only exception is for students that are registered for summer school. If a student needs their device for summer school, they may keep it and turn it in at the end of summer school.

            Finally, I’d like to thank our community for helping us to be ALL IN for HHS this year and for all that you have done to support our students. We have had a wonderful school year, and we could not have done it without you.

During Senior Awards Night on Wednesday, May 28, the Hempfield Foundation awarded a total of $28,000 in scholarships to 13 outstanding Hempfield High School seniors! Please click here to see a complete list of this year's scholarship winners.

Also, the Foundation is offering one last chance to join its 2025 Golf Tournament on Friday, June 6 at Four Seasons Golf Club. The event begins at 12 PM with registration and lunch, followed by a 1:00 PM start. There will be multiple skill prizes and a brief reception will follow the event.
