Lancaster County Community Foundation’s Extraordinary Give is tomorrow, Friday, November 18, and several organizations that help families in the Hempfield area are participating.

One such organization is the Hempfield Foundation, which supports teachers and staff in all grade levels and in all school buildings through grants that help students learn, create, and compete. Grants have been used for purchasing innovative classroom resources, breaking down barriers for students with special needs, introducing students to talented artists across all genres, and giving students access to cutting-edge equipment and technology.

To make an ExtraGive contribution to the Hempfield Foundation or any of the numerous organizations that help our students and community members, visit www.extragive.org tomorrow, Friday, November 18, between 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.

  • REMINDER: VIP Dance!

Posted by Cassondra Ishman on 11/16/2022 9:00:00 AM

    VIP Dance

VIP Fall Dance 2 Days away! We are excited about bringing the VIP (Very Important Person) back to the school.  This dance is geared for the student to invite their favorite person to dance the night away with. Break out your dancing shoes and dress up to make the event extra special. This could be a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle or family member. Due to some of the past issues at previous dances, we need ALL families to understand that the accompanying ADULT is responsible for the safety of their child.

    Where: Mountville Elementary School Gym

Cost: $5 for student and adult - CASH ONLY at door

*Please note that adults are responsible for their child at the dance to monitor their behavior. All school rules apply. If vandalism occurs in bathrooms or in the gym, the child and adult will be escorted from the dance.

  • Veteran's Day

Posted by Cassondra Ishman on 11/11/2022 8:00:00 AM

    6th grade veteran's project

Yesterday, the sixth-grade students at MES honored local Veterans through the Adopt a Veteran Program, which is sponsored by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).

Previously, the Veterans came to Mountville and shared their stories with our sixth-grade students. The students then worked in groups to create a project to share at the Veteran’s Showcase that was held yesterday where students told their Veteran’s story through storybooks, comics, Lego creations, art media, green screen video technology, and more.

At the showcase, Dr. Kain sang the National Anthem, the sixth-grade chorus sang a song of gratitude, a student shared an original poem, and a few art students created a banner to welcome the Veterans. The MES sixth graders & staff wanted to thank all Veterans for their service today and every day!
