If you have a student in one of these grades, please know that these devices and chargers are being collected throughout this week. Apple iPads, charging blocks, charging cables and iPad cases in these grade levels must be turned in. (Students in ESY or Summer School do NOT need to turn in their iPad until the program is completed in August.)

The district will collect iPads from students who wish to turn them in for summer storage this week (May 22-May 24). Chargers should remain at home for use next school year and will NOT be collected if a student is turning in their iPad for the summer. Students who turn in the iPad for the summer will receive the iPad in their new homeroom at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

  • MES Update

Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 5/18/2024 6:00:00 AM

It was a busy week for our Mountville students. This week, the Elementary Combined Band, Chorus, and Orchestra concerts were held. Each show was spectacular. Special thanks to Mrs. Pershouse, Mr. Stauffer, Ms. Baker, and Mrs. Kling. I can't wait to see what they perform next year!

On Tuesday night, five of our third-grade students came to the Board Meeting to present their simple machine game/toy from the Third Grade Simple Machine Science Fair. Josely Arce, Caleb Padron, Daniel Hopkins, Olivia Musser, and Jacob Haldeman showcased their projects for the members and attendees. In addition to the students' families, Mrs. Moyer, Ms. Smith, and Miss Dominguez also came to support their students. The children bravely spoke in front of all those people and did an amazing job!

Mrs. Enterline's fourth grade had a blast at the Idiom Parade this week. Students wore a costume to represent an idiom, incorporating figurative language into their daily routine. Check out the idioms from the day: Break A Leg - Blakely, Eyes in Back of My Head- Peyton, An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away- Elijah, Couch Potato- Marcus, Time Flies- Grant, On Cloud 9- Mlasi, Made of Money- Carter, Social Butterfly- Cora, In a Pickle- Brendan, Spilled the Beans- Matthew, Sweet Tooth- Natalie, Heart on My Sleeve- Halle, One Smart Cookie- Mariam, Cool as a Cucumber- Evan, Hit the Hay- Victoria, When Pigs Fly- Ziennalynn, Under the Weather- Jaslyn, You Can Count on Me- Jordan, Hold Your Horses- Issy, Let the Cat Out of the Bag- Carly, Piece of Cake- Ryder, Don't Cry over Spilled Milk- Chloe, Bird's Eye View- Huozhe.

On Friday, our fifth-grade students demonstrated their excellent skills in the Fifth Grade Wax Museum. They portrayed influential people in American history, incorporating reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The fifth graders did an outstanding job sharing information about their influential American with visitors.

Monday, May 20, is Beach Party Day at MES. This is the final school-wide PBIS incentive for the year. At different times of the day, there will be yard games, popsicles, beach volleyball, and other activities. Students are encouraged to bring a beach towel and sunglasses. Remember to wear sunscreen!
