Important Information about Bus Transportation
Posted by Shannon Zimmerman on 2/26/2021 4:30:00 PMNationally, transportation companies have experienced school bus driver shortages. Our bus transportation provider, Student Transportation of America, is no exception. They have experienced difficulties in hiring drivers this school year.
In order to ensure that every student who wants to be transported by school bus can receive bus services, we may be combining or altering school bus routes. If your student is impacted by a change in busing, you would have already received a direct email communication from our Transportation Office.
Please know that we carefully evaluate any bus route changes to ensure that our students are appropriately socially distanced. We assign two students per seat. Students may sit three to a seat only if they are from the same household. We ask that students sit in their assigned seat every day, as this ensures social distancing and also helps with contact tracing, if necessary. Additionally, every student must wear a facial covering when riding the school bus.
We appreciate families who have offered to transport their own student(s) to or from school. We encourage families to continue providing their own transportation whenever possible, as this may help limit bus route changes.
If you have questions about bus stop locations or times, please contact our Transportation Office, 717-898-5606.
