Need dependable, nurturing before-and-after school care for your K–6 child? Our School-Age Childcare (SAC) program has you covered—right in your child’s Hempfield elementary school!
For 37 years, Hempfield recCenter’s SAC program has provided local families with a safe, engaging space for kids to start and end their day.
- Caring, credentialed staff trained in child development and safety
- Structured play, gym time, table games, mentorship—and FUN!
- Convenient hours: 6:30–8:40AM and 3:30–6:00PM, with coverage on scheduled early dismissals
Don’t wait! Registration is open now—and the early bird fee is $75 per child through June 30 ($90 after). Spots are limited and fill quickly based on staffing and capacity.
Registration isn’t confirmed until paperwork and payment are completed—so check that box early and breathe easy knowing your child is set for the school year!
Available at all 6 Hempfield SD elementary schools

Summer Just Got More Exciting!
Looking for a way to keep your kids active, social, and outdoors this summer? The Hempfield recCenter's Summer Playground program is here to make that happen!
Dates & Times: June 10 – August 2, 2025 | Weekdays, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Closed July 4)
Locations:
- Amos Herr Park, Landisville
- Mountville Park, Mountville
- Silver Spring Park, Columbia
Ages: 6–12
Activities Include:
- Outdoor play and organized games
- Sports and team-building activities
- Optional pool parties and exciting field trips to places like Go N Bananas and ZooAmerica
Pricing (April 1–22):
- $150 for Youth Members
- $180 for Hempfield Residents
- $220 for Non-Residents
Note: After April 22, a $20 late fee applies.
