Our goal is to inform parents about pertinent happenings and developments in the school; to provide a mechanism for parents, teachers, and administrators to meet to discuss common interests and concerns; and to sponsor projects and programs to enhance the overall quality of education available at Centerville Elementary School.

Voting Members
All parents/guardians and professional staff members are eligible to be voting members of the Executive Board if they sign up by the October PTO meeting or at events preceding the October meeting such as the Ice Cream Social and Back to School Night. All parents/guardians and professional staff members are welcome to attend and participate in PTO meetings but cannot vote on board issues unless registered as voting members.
General Membership Meetings
The PTO By-laws require at least 2 general membership events to be held during the school year. One is held in the fall and includes a vote to approve the PTO budget for the current school year. The second is held in the spring and includes the election of officers for the next school year. Notification for these meeting will be provided in advance as required by the PTO By–laws.
Volunteer Information
The Hempfield School District welcomes individuals who are interested in volunteering. A volunteer is a person who services the district without compensation on a planned, approved, and regular basis. 2022 PTO Basket Raffle: Items Due Tomorrow
Posted by Kimberly Snyder on 3/22/2022 12:15:00 PMIt is once again time for our CES Basket Raffle! This is a great fundraiser for our school and a hands-on way for our students to be involved in the process.
ALL ITEMS/GIFT CARDS/MONEY need to be handed to the classroom teacher no later than Wednesday, March 23. This will allow enough time to assemble the baskets so that they are ready to be displayed at Night of the Arts on April 31st. Tickets may be purchased at the Night of the Arts and the Family Fun Fest in May.
KINDERGARTEN
- PlayDoh
- Disney Princess and Barbie
- Outdoor Summer Fun: bubbles, water guns, pool toys, popsicle makers, frisbees, beach towels, sunscreen, beach balls, sprinklers, sidewalk chalk, etc
First
- Boy and Girl Lego sets
- Shopkins/LOL
- Fidgets, pop its, squishies, etc
Second
- Marvel Superhero
- American Girl Doll/18 Inch Doll- dolls, accessories, clothing, etc
- Science Kits
Third
- Nerf: can be any balls/nerf guns/etc
- Star Wars
- Art and craft supplies: paper, glue, sequins, stickers, glitter, pom-poms, Michaels gift cards, etc
Fourth
- Harry Potter
- Kids Baking: cookbooks, mixing bowls, aprons, cake mixes, sprinkles, icing tips
- Slime: glue, hand sanitizer, contact solution, glitter, containers, dye, slime kits, etc...but NO BORAX
Fifth
- Sports Equipment: balls, frisbees, bocce ball, soccer, cornhole, tennis, etc
- Spa/Makeup-think tween girl: nail polish, nail wraps, face masks, eye shadow, body spray, lotion
- Movies: popcorn, movie theater gift cards, PG and below movies, box candy
Sixth
- Collect money to do one grade level electronics basket
You can also donate:
- a gift card to a local business or national chain (it will be used to fill in baskets/potentially make a gift card basket)
- cash in an envelope with your child’s grade level (we will fill up any grade level baskets that are lacking)
- large baskets/containers for raffle items: large enough to hold lots of items!!

CES Night of the Arts 2022: Volunteers Needed!
