  • Volunteers!

Posted by Keri Detter on 8/10/2022 4:00:00 PM

    Attention 2022-2023 LIC Volunteers!

As we get ready to start the 2022-2023 school year, we are looking forward to increasing the number of volunteers who can help LIC achieve great things for our students and teachers throughout the year. The "PEP rep" is the most widely known (and important) volunteer position we have. The PEP Rep acts as a liaison between the teacher and the parents/guardians in their student’s classroom. He/she contacts the parents/guardians to make arrangements for classroom and school activities. If you are interested, please make sure to check the box when you return the PTO volunteer form to your teacher. The PTO volunteer forms will be distributed during Sneak-a-Peek and Back to School Night.

There are also several schoolwide volunteering opportunities throughout the year, as well as other opportunities in the classroom. Please make sure you have your clearances on file with Hempfield School District now to avoid any delays. For additional information, you can call the Hempfield Human Resources Office at 898-5503 or go to "Volunteer Clearances" on the district website.

Posted by Brooke Fisher on 8/8/2022 12:00:00 PM

PowerSchool is now open for students and parents to access for the new school year. As a reminder, on July 19, student and staff logins to PowerSchool and Schoology were integrated with Office 365. Parent logins for PowerSchool have not changed.

For parents, there were two minor changes to Schoology logins:

    • Parents will need to log into Schoology via the main page at The former login page at will no longer work for parents.
    • Parents will now use their email address to log into Schoology rather than a username. This email address is the same one you registered for PowerSchool and Schoology with. Your Schoology password has not changed and can still be viewed after logging into PowerSchool.

Please contact the Technology Department at (717) 898-5596 if you have trouble accessing Schoology or PowerSchool or need help creating your account.

  • Free and Reduced Meals Update: Universal Access to Free School Meals Has Ended

Posted by Brooke Fisher on 7/27/2022 4:00:00 PM

Universal access to free school meals, that was made available for the past two school years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has come to an end. The federal funding for the program was not renewed for the upcoming school year. Therefore, only eligible families will receive free or reduced meals upon successful completion of the application process for the 2022-23 school year.

An application for an eligible family must be completed, at any time, for every school year. Applications are approved based on federal standards for family size and income.

To apply for Free and Reduced Meals for the upcoming school year, please visit the Food Services Department page. The page includes resources such as:

The Food Services Department page also includes information on school menus, SchoolCafé login information, meal prices, payment options, nutritional information, and much more!

Questions regarding Free and Reduced Meals can be directed to the Food Services Department at (717) 898-5566.
