Weekly LIC ENews from Dr. Daecher
Posted by Keri Detter on 3/24/2023 10:00:00 AMWeek in Review
It was a busy week here at LIC! Mrs. Maria Hershey, our artist-in-residence, joined our art classes to teach pottery. We also had a virtual visit from Chris Grabenstein. Mr. Grabenstein is the author of our One Book, One School. He talked about his inspirations for writing and the hard work and perseverance it takes to be an author. Students also had a chance to ask him questions.Next week is the last week of March. We will be gearing up for PSSA assessments that will take place the last week of April and the first week of May. Absences for educational trips will not be approved during those time periods.
Finally, as the season gets warmer, please check your student’s clothing. Students should adhere to the dress expectations that I have outlined for them in class meetings.
Attendance Reminders
- 3 or more consecutive days absent requires a doctor's note or preapproved absence.
- Any day absent after 10 excused or unexcused absences requires a doctor's note or principal approval.
- Emails may be sent as excuse notes keri_detter@hempfieldsd.org
- An excuse note is required within 3 days of an absence.
- Pre-approved absence forms are on the website, in the office, or I can email the pdf. These forms are for educational reasons and family trips.
Employment OpportunityWe are looking to fill positions in our cafeteria. In addition, we have an afternoon building aide position available here at LIC! We would love for you to join our team. Please apply by clicking here.
