    Notice is hereby given that the Hempfield School Board will convene a virtual meeting on June 9, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. 

    Any Hempfield resident may request to speak and offer comments during the public comment portion of the meeting by contacting the Board’s Recording Secretary at 717-898-5564 or kathy_miller@hempfieldsd.org by June 9, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

  • HSD Hotspot Drop Off

    If you received a hotspot from Hempfield School District, this message is for you.

    These hotspots are being disabled for the summer should be returned to the school district as soon as possible. They can be dropped off during your building belonging pickup or at the Technology Office at Landisville Education Center starting next week.  If you have questions, please contact the Technology Department at 717-898-5596.

  • LIC District & Student Belongings Drop-off/Pick-up

    Location

    Landisville Intermediate Center (Follow the map below.)

    Times

    Please come during the following scheduled times.  

    • 8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Families with multiple children at LIC
    • 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Grade 6
    • 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Grade 5
    • 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Grade 4 

    Safety Procedures

    For everyone’s safety, please wear a mask and gloves

    Items to Return to School

    • iPad & Charger for students in Grade 6 ONLY
    • Library Books
    • School Calculators
    • Pre-Algebra Textbook
    • Reading books from the classroom
    • School owned instruments for 6th grade students not continuing band or orchestra

    Pick-up Process

    • Write a sign and display it in your car window. The sign should include: Student Name, Grade, Teacher (See example below.)

    Grade 4

    Wise

    • If you have multiple children, include student information, for all children, on the car window sign.
    • Please see the map for entrance and exit.
    • Stop at the first adult (Station #1). The adult will read the window sign and communicate pick-up information into the building via walkie talkie. 
    • Proceed to second adult (Station #2). Drop off school materials listed above.
    • Proceed to third adult (Station #3). Receive a labeled bag containing individual student materials.
    • A limited number of summer math books will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the LIC student material pick-up station. Please ask for one, if interested. The completion of the math book this summer is optional. 
    • For your safety and staff safety, we ask that you do not walk to the school to drop-off or pick-up materials.
    • If the scheduled time does not work for you, please call the office at 717-898-5590 or email ian_daecher@hempfieldsd.org prior to Friday, June 5.

  • Join Junior High Sports

    Interested in playing soccer?

    If your student is interested in playing on the girls Middle School soccer team in the Fall of 2020, please join the team Schoology group for more information. Tryouts for the girls junior high team are scheduled for August 25, and a completed PIAA physical will be required prior to trying out. More information will be posted on the team's schoology group page.

  • End of Year Message from Principal Daecher

    Thank you to our families and students for doing your best during this difficult time. I asked that the students look back on the entire year and remember all of the good times we had together.

    Please do not forget we have pick-ups/drop-offs tomorrow. I hope to see you then!

  • Ramp Closure Beginning June 8

    As you travel throughout our school community, please be advised of the following notification from East Hempfield Township.

    The Westbound OFF ramp from Route 283 westbound to State Road Route 722 will be closed beginning Monday, June 8 and will remain closed for a month or more. This means that the only access onto Route 283 will be westbound, and the only egress off of Route 283 will be eastbound during the month of June and into the beginning of July. The tentative date to transition to the new pavement on State Road is Wednesday, July 8. Once this transition and associated ramp closures are confirmed, additional notifications will be made.

  • Thursday, June 4 Early Dismissal & Last Student Day

    This is a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, June 4 is the last student day and is still an Early Dismissal. Elementary Schools will dismiss at 1:00 p.m.

  • Library Book Update

    Students who need to check to see what library books they have checked out can use the directions found here to login and see the books - using an iPad or a Computer: https://youtu.be/uXSX2eGLXqk 

    Library books that were left at school in lockers, desks or classrooms may not have been checked in yet and might still be showing as checked out to students. We are working to get those items checked in as quickly as possible.
