    The start time of the Board’s Education & Programs and Policy & Legal Committee meeting has been changed to 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2022. The meeting location remains the same – the Public Board Room in the Administration Building, 200 Church Street, Landisville.

  • What You Need to Know About the 6th Grade Trip to JA BizTown

    Parents/Guardians of 6th graders:

    Our sixth graders are excited for their upcoming trip to JA BizTown and looking forward to an amazing experience. JA BizTown does have a mask requirement for all staff, students, volunteers, and teachers. All 6th graders will be bringing home information about the requirements for wearing a mask at this event for you to review. If you have questions, please contact the building principal.

    Time: 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm

  • FES Preschool Connections Club Meetings Save the Date

    Any preschool-aged child who will be attending Hempfield School District for the 2022-23 school year can attend our Preschool Connections Club with their parent/guardian/caregiver at the school building they will be attending in the future. 

    Farmdale Elementary School Preschool Connections Club will meet 12:45 p.m.-1:30 p.m. on the following dates at FES:

    • February 1, 2022

  • 2 Minute Talks: All About 2022-23 Kindergarten Registration

    Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year opens next Monday, January 24, 2022, and children who will be five years old prior to September 1, 2022, are eligible to be registered. The registration process can be completed in just a few simple steps. Superintendent Mr. Bromirski reviews these steps in this month's 2-minute talk.

  • Revised Protocols for Covid Positive Individuals and Close Contacts

    On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, the Hempfield School Board discussed the District’s Health and Safety Plan and effective Friday, January 14, 2022, the following COVID-related protocols will go into effect:

    • Hempfield remains mask optional, except when students/staff are on a school bus. 
    • If an individual is sick, exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, or exhibiting symptoms related to other illnesses, the individual MUST stay home, and they are not permitted to attend school or school-related activities. 

     

    COVID POSITIVE

    • If an individual is COVID+ and has symptoms, they MUST isolate for at least 5 days from the onset of symptoms.  
    • If an individual is COVID+ and asymptomatic, they MUST isolate for at least 5 days from the date the COVID-19 test was performed.  
    • If an individual has COVID-19, they may return to school on or after day 6 of symptom onset, if:
      • The individual is asymptomatic, or their symptoms are improving and
      • The individual is fever-free for at least 24 hours and not taking fever-reducing medication.
      • It is strongly recommended that the individual returning to school early from isolation continues to wear a mask through day 10.
    • If the individual’s symptoms are not improving or new symptoms arise, the individual MUST continue to isolate.

     

    CLOSE CONTACT

    • If a vaccinated or unvaccinated individual is identified as a close contact to someone who is COVID+, they may stay in school and participate in all school related activities if:
      • They remain asymptomatic, meaning they have no COVID-19 symptoms, they are not sick, or they do not have symptoms related to other illnesses.
      • It is strongly recommended that the identified close contact wears a mask for 10 days from the date of exposure.

  • 2022-2023 Kindergarten Registration Opens Soon

    Children residing in Hempfield School District who will be five years old prior to September 1, 2022, are eligible to begin kindergarten in the fall of 2022. The online kindergarten registration process begins on January 24, 2022. We ask that households can complete registration will close Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

    3 Simple Steps to a Successful Countdown to Kindergarten!

    1. Visit our kindergarten registration page at to create an account and complete the online enrollment.
    2. Call the Student Services at 717-459-9009 to schedule a time to bring your child's birth certificate, proof of residency, immunization records, and parent photo ID to the Registration Office.
    3. Attend Kindergarten Orientation Night at the school building where your child will attend school. During orientation, parents/guardians learn more about the educational program.

  • Use Safe2Say to Report Concerns

    There is no topic more important than the safety and security of our students and the staff who work with them in our schools. Please note that our the Hempfield 4-1-1 Tipline will be deactivates as of Friday, January 14. Moving forward, we ask that our students, staff, and school community continue report any concerns that arise using Safe2Say Something! Safe2Say Something is a school safety tool that will save lives.

     

    Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.

     

    How it works:

    • Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system.
    • Crisis center reviews, assesses, and processes all submissions.
    • Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention.
    • If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app. Download the app here.

  • Reminder: Friday, January 14 Early Dismissal & Monday, January 17 Closed

    On Friday, January 14, all Hempfield schools will have an early dismissal. The dismissal schedule is as follows:

    • Hempfield High School will dismiss at 12:50 p.m.
    • Middle schools will dismiss at 12:40 p.m.
    • Elementary schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m.
      • AM Kindergarten Session is 9:00 - 10:50 a.m.
      • PM Kindergarten Session is 11:40 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

     

    On Monday, January 17, Hempfield School District is closed and there will be no school. Classes will be back in session on Tuesday, January 18.
