The Hempfield School District provides assistance for homeless students in accordance with the McKinney-Vento Act.

• Bridge of Hope: Works with homeless or at-risk of being homeless single mothers with children. Contact (717) 207-8932 or inquire via the website.
• Community Basics: Affordable housing communities throughout Lancaster County. Location availability, application, and eligibility requirements can be found online.
• Homes of Hope: A family experiencing homelessness, can be brought into a home setting for 6-9 months for nurture, coaching, and intentional training.
• Tenfold: Formerly Tabor and LHOP. Provides budgeting and credit counseling, first-time homebuyer program, landlord-tenant dispute help, and eviction prevention. Contact (717) 397-5182.
• United Way CHART: Connects those experiencing homelessness with community resources or emergency shelters. Access by calling 211 or 1 (855) 567-5342 for pre-screening and referral on Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

• Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a Crisis Counselor. This is a free and confidential service for anyone that is needing to talk to someone, particularly through text. This text line is also available 24/7.
• 988 (formerly The TALK Line): This Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. 
• Lancaster County Crisis Intervention: Crisis Intervention at (717) 394-2631 is a 24-hour emergency mental health service provided for persons experiencing anxiety, depression, and suicidal or homicidal thoughts. Crisis Intervention staff can assist in assessing what a person needs to alleviate the immediate crisis and then link them to the appropriate services. 
• Lancaster County Warm Line: The Warm Line at (717) 945-9976 is a free, confidential phone service for Lancaster County residents. You can call to speak one-on-one with a certified peer specialist. This is not a crisis line, but a safe place to discuss problems, talk about your day, or ask questions related to recovery and wellness strategies.
