Virtual Graduation – Students Please Check Email!

An email for virtual graduation was sent to every seniors’ school email address and will come from graduation@marchingorder.com. Families: Please read the below information fully and work with your student to follow the instructions.

Instructions to Access School Email

OPTION 1 to access school email:

  • On your Hempfield iPad, find the “Apple Mail” App icon.
  • Press the Envelope icon to open the App.  If your mail is set up properly with the correct password, your mail should automatically load.  If this does not work, try option 2 below.

OPTION 2 to access school email:

  • Launch the Student Resources page through a web browser (Safari or Chrome) from a computer or iPad. The link to the student resources page is: http://start.students.hempfieldsd.org/
  • Click on “Office 365” in the top row of resources.
  • Click on “Outlook.”
  • If you are prompted to enter a password, try your current Hempfield password first. If this password does not work, try your old Hempfield password that was used in the Fall semester. If you do not remember this password, message Mr. Wagner or a teacher to look it up for you.
  • You may be prompted to set up a Time Zone if this is the first time you are using Outlook email. You only need to do this step once, but you must pick a Time Zone in order to move on.
  • Wait a few minutes. Your Hempfield student email should begin loading after a few minutes. If this does not happen, contact Mr. Wagner or Mrs. Dissinger.

What Will Graduation Look Like on June 2?

We understand that a virtual graduation ceremony cannot replace the feeling of an in-person graduation ceremony, but this virtual event will mirror some of the most important elements of a traditional commencement. The Hempfield High School Class of 2020 virtual ceremony provides:

  • An individualized slide per student
  • An individualized audio clip per student
  • An individualized video per student
  • The moment when you hear your name called as a graduate
  • Speeches from fellow students, your HHS principal, the Hempfield School District superintendent and school board president
  • A processional of the segments in a full length sequence of back-to-back to content that is live-streamed for our school community to participate together.

A full FAQ about virtual graduation will be released tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6.

Instructions to Submit Information for Virtual Graduation

Please follow the instructions in the email from Marching Order to set up a password and upload your student’s photo and video. Students should wear their cap and gown! We have specific deadlines with the company, and it is VERY IMPORTANT that students and families adhere to these deadlines. Next Tuesday, May 12 is the last day for students to submit personalized content, including the phonetic name announcement, photos, and videos. If a student does not wish to participate in virtual graduation, a parent/guardian must contact Mrs. Renee Dissinger to confirm.

What do I do if I have issues or questions?

Any students who has issues accessing student emails, has not received an email from MarchingOrder, or has a concern related to cap and gown, can also simply complete this form to request additional support.

Here is a link for the Senior Feedback Form. The purpose of this survey to give our seniors a voice in planning for our end of the year events and tributes.

Again, we want to reiterate that a virtual ceremony is not the only thing we plan to do to celebrate the senior class. When permitted, we would like to use our Hempfield campus for an in-person event. When this event can happen will depend on the state’s guidance closer to the time, but we would look to schedule it before August 16, 2020.
