MORNING CAR RIDER DROP-OFF

For the safety of everyone, please following the guidelines listed below as we recently have noticed several safety concerns for students, staff, and drivers. Also, if everyone is following the guidelines for entering and exiting the school safely and following the expected procedures for dropping off students in the car rider line, we can eliminate cars being lined up on Noll Drive, the process will be much quicker, but more importantly safer. 

1. The first car(s) arriving at Rohrerstown must drive to the end of the sidewalk; a pylon (orange cone) is set up so that the first driver knows where to drive their car to & stop.
2. The first five to six cars will form a single row. The single line will extend from the pylon to a barricade, which will be positioned in the driveway. At this point, a double line of cars will be formed. The double line of cars should extend to Noll Drive. Drivers should merge at the barricade in a 1-1 fashion. Please be considerate of each other as everyone will be able to drop-off their son/daughter. Do not drop-off any children in the outer line of cars as this is very dangerous; students should not be walking through a line of traffic. Students only can be dropped off from a car that is stopped alongside the curb/pavement.
3. All students should be able to get out of the car and close the car door independently. Parents/guardians should not get out of the car.  This slows the drop-off line down,  and cars are backed up on Noll Drive. 
4. As students are dropped off, the next set of cars will drive to the end of the sidewalk where the pylon is set up.
5. All parents/guardians must use the drop-off lane. Several parents/guardians are parking their cars on both sides of the parking lot and walking through lanes of moving cars and/or buses. This is not safe and must stop.  Please use the drop-off lane.
