The most recent update to the Reopening of Schools is a PowerPoint presentation that was shared at the Hempfield School District Board meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. You can view that here on our Reopening of Schools webpage, which serves as a resource for district updates as they become available.

Families have the opportunity to choose their pathway to success for “Safely ReuKNIGHTing” in the 2020-2021 school year. There are four options:

  • Option #1 = In Person: attend Hempfield classes in our school buildings with increased health/safety protocols.

  • Option #2 = Virtual Learning: virtually participate in scheduled Hempfield classes from home using Google meet. Classes are taught in real time by Hempfield teachers.

  • Option #3 = HAVEN Online Learning: attend Hempfield’s independent and flexible, full-time cyber learning program. Classes may or may not be taught by Hempfield teachers.

  • Option #4 = Home Education: family establishes learning goals and objectives and uses a curriculum of their choosing while adhering to Department of Education parameters.

We’ve also added a Frequently Asked Questions area to the following pages:

Finally, we’re working to get a clear understanding of what options families will select for each student in their household. So we’ve added a link to our HSD 2020-21 Reopening: Student Information Form. Please complete this form by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5.
