Dear LPC Families:

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at the Landisville Primary Center! From our brick and mortar school to your home or other virtual location, I would like to introduce myself and let you know that regardless of where your son or daughter is calling “school” this school year, that I am here as a support and resource to all of you and your children whenever you may need it!

For many years I have lived both personally and professionally by the mission of “having others’ backs” through my daily interactions with students, families, and staff to the programs we have created and carried out at LPC.  This mission and idea are never more so important than during this current time.  With so much uncertainty, change, and worry in our lives and the lives of our children, we need to “have each other’s’ backs” and lead with empathy to make the best of each of our days.

During the 2020-2021 school year, I plan to use this mindset to be an extension of your family as our LPC Family works to provide your children with a safe, positive, and caring learning environment.  As School Counselor of LPC, I have the pleasure of working with each and every student as well as their families.  As I enter my eleventh year working within the Hempfield School District, I want to take time to briefly introduce myself as I serve as a member of our LPC Team to support your children’s social, emotional, and academic development.

As LPC’s school counselor, my job involves a variety of duties that allows me to come into the lives of your children and create a positive relationship as well as supply them with tools to help them be happy, positive learners and friends to each other. My goals for this school year are simple yet complex:

  1. Create, Model, and Teach Safe Social Relationships
  2. Teach and Model Stress and Worry Reduction Strategies to Cope Well
  3. Build Community Connections and Offer Supports/Resources
  4. Boost Student Resilience and Empathy Skills

I am always happy and available to lend an ear to listen to parents and teachers, assisting in any way that I can. If you should ever have any questions or concerns, I would be happy to talk with you to offer information, ideas/support, or direct you to appropriate community resources.

I can be reached through the main office at school (717-898-5519) or via email (mike_resh@hempfieldsd.org).    Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I am here for you and your children anytime as an advocate and support and truly mean it when I say “I’ve Got Your Back!”

Here’s to a healthy and happy school year!
