LIC Cares Week

LIC Cares Week kicks off Monday, January 14 through Friday, January 18. LIC Cares Week is a Spirit week dedicated to awareness, discussion, and education about mental health. The schedule is as follows:

Monday January 14: Recognize Feelings

“You can’t change the situation, but you can change how you deal with it.”

  • Students and staff are encouraged to wear a color that best represents a specific emotion.

Tuesday January 15: Be Yourself

“Let go of who you think you are supposed to be and be who you are.”

  • Students and staff are encouraged to wear their favorite outfit.

Wednesday January 16: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

“Stress is not what happens to us. It is our response to what happens. And response is something we can choose.”

  • Students and staff are encouraged to wear sweatshirts and sweatpants.

Thursday January 17: It Takes Character to Cope with Anger

“When you let anger get the best of you, it brings out the worst in you.”

  • Students and staff are encouraged to dress as their favorite TV/movie/book character.

Friday January 18: LIC Cares!

“Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.”

  • Students and staff are encouraged to wear red and black.
