LIC Cares Week kicks off Monday, January 14 through Friday, January 18. LIC Cares Week is a Spirit week dedicated to awareness, discussion, and education about mental health. The schedule is as follows:
Monday January 14: Recognize Feelings
“You can’t change the situation, but you can change how you deal with it.”
Students and staff are encouraged to wear a color that best represents a specific emotion.
Tuesday January 15: Be Yourself
“Let go of who you think you are supposed to be and be who you are.”
Students and staff are encouraged to wear their favorite outfit.
Wednesday January 16: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
“Stress is not what happens to us. It is our response to what happens. And response is something we can choose.”
Students and staff are encouraged to wear sweatshirts and sweatpants.
Thursday January 17: It Takes Character to Cope with Anger
“When you let anger get the best of you, it brings out the worst in you.”
Students and staff are encouraged to dress as their favorite TV/movie/book character.
Friday January 18: LIC Cares!
“Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.”
Students and staff are encouraged to wear red and black.
