The Hempfield boys' cross country team won the 2020 Lancaster-Lebanon League cross country championship!
They placed first by attacking the race from the beginning. The red shirts were visible in the front throughout the entire 3.1 mile course.
Sophomore Aidan Hodge had a tight race for second, holding off two strong runners from McCaskey and Manheim Township. Aidan's confidence and composure never faltered.
Junior Dale Winand and senior Evan Eshleman placed sixth and seventh, followed closely by sophomore Joe Fahrney in ninth place. These three went toe-to-toe with two Cedar Crest and two McCaskey runners the whole race, eventually breaking up the scoring opportunities for our closest rivals in this race.
Freshman Sam Freedman finished as our fifth and final point scorer by placing twentieth. This gutsy newcomer shows a "never back down" attitude every time he laces up his spikes.
Senior David Jackson and sophomore Chris Titter rounded out our winning ways by placing thirty-first and thirty-fourth, respectively. It was agreed that Chris passed more people in this race than any other!
Seven Hempfield runners, finishing in the top thirty-four, in a race that had one hundred fifty-six total runners!
