Federal Programs Information

The Pennsylvania Department of Education's Division of Federal Programs administers federal programs and funding to 667 local education agencies (LEAs) and over 2,000 nonpublic schools in the amount of approximately $800 million for Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) funding.

Title I Information

Title I is a 100% federally funded supplemental education program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies to improve educational opportunities for educationally deprived children. Title I programs are designed to help children meet the state content and performance standards in reading, language arts, and mathematics. Title III Information

Title III is a 100% federally funded supplemental program that concentrates on delivering language instruction educational programs to students who have a primary language other than English. This program is designed to improve the education of limited English proficient (LEP) children and youths by helping them learn English and meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards.
