Process for Identifying English Learners:
1. Students enter the process through…
- Completion of Home Language Survey
- Parent/Guardian Interviews
2. Students identified move on to a screening evaluation:
- ELD teacher administers WIDA screener
- Parent/Teacher input
- Multidisciplinary Team Meeting held to go over the results
3. Students who qualify…
- are assigned an ELD teacher
- are identified as an English Learner (EL)
- receive ELD instruction o push-in or pull out classes
- particapte in annual WIDA assessment
- receive appropriate accomodations in general content classes
