PA Department of Education Information

The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires one standardized assessment related to the high school department. At the end of biology, students take the Keystone biology exam. Curriculum is aligned to eligible content for these exams and to the Pennsylvania Common Core State Standards and Keystone eligible content.

Students who do not score proficient or advanced in the first administration will re-take the assessment near the end of their Algebra II course. Demonstrating proficiency is a graduation requirement. More information is available here: https://www.education.pa.gov/K-12/Assessment%20and%20Accountability/GraduationRequirements/Pages/default.aspx
