Students Celebrate Cultural Day

Students at East Petersburg Elementary School celebrated many cultures of the world during their annual cultural day. Many countries from around the world were represented by the activities and the special visitors which were a part of the day. Students watched traditional German folk dances, made paper Mexican flowers, and learned about Kenyan customs. Students also participated in African dance and performed what they learned for the rest of the school. In some classes stories were read about people from other countries and in others, representatives from other cultures talked about their countries and the way of life there. Students also enjoyed a special assembly the day before featuring chinese acrobats performing feats such as plate-spinning, foot juggling, and group acrobatics.
