Pre-K Counts Open Enrollment Nights
Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 3/25/2024 11:00:00 AMPre-K Counts Enrollment nights for Owl Hill Learning Academy’s Pre-K Counts program are happening on Monday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 17 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Landisville Intermediate Center.
Owl Hill Learning Academy offers the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program for Hempfield School District students who turn three years of age on or before September 1, qualify with the income and family size, and meet the program eligibility requirements.
*Please bring a month’s worth of pay stubs or W2 for all working adults in the household for proof of income.
The program runs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and will follow the HSD calendar.
Materials and breakfast or lunch are provided at no cost to families. Transportation is the responsibility of the family, as no busing is offered for this program.

OBOS Celebration Night!
Posted by Kim Rauscher on 3/24/2024 6:45:00 PMJoin us tomorrow evening from 6-7:30 PM for East Pete's One Book One School Night of Celebration! Families can enjoy a Mars Photo Shoot, Glow Painting, Ping-Pong, Out of This World Food Tasting, and so much more!
Food Trucks will also be on hand if you would like to purchase dinner or a snack (Walk-O Taco, Dutchland Funnel Cakes, and Kona Ice).
Bring a sweatshirt, as some activities will be held inside and out.

Voting for Hempfield Foundation Bookmark Design Contest Continues until 10 PM on Monday, March 25!
Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 3/22/2024 11:00:00 AMJust a quick reminder that the deadline to vote for your favorite Hempfield Foundation Read Across America bookmark design is Monday, March 25, at 10 PM. You can cast your vote on the Foundation's Facebook page! This contest is open to all elementary, middle school, and high school students in the Hempfield School District.
The winner from each school level (elementary school /middle school/high school) will be announced on Facebook and Instagram on March 28. In addition, the winning elementary design will be printed and distributed to all elementary students, the winning middle school design will be printed and handed out to all middle school students, and the winning high school design will be available to high school students. Finally, the winners for each category will receive a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

EPES students raise funds for Jump4THON

Elementary Report Cards
Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 3/13/2024 11:00:00 AMElementary report cards for the second trimester (T2) are available at 5 p.m. today on PowerSchool and can be accessed from a web browser when signed in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal Account. T2 report cards can be found in the PS Vault in the Report Card/2324 folder.
Please note: PowerSchool must be visited using a web browser to access report cards.

Hempfield Foundation Bookmark Design Contest Underway, Submissions Due Monday, March 11!
Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 3/8/2024 8:00:00 AMThe Hempfield Foundation’s 2nd annual bookmark design contest to celebrate Read Across America Month is underway! This contest is open to all elementary, middle school, and high school (NEW for 2024!) students in the Hempfield School District. Information sheets were sent home with all students K-8. High school students can find copies of the event flyer in the HHS library.
Using the template on the information sheet, students are encouraged to use their creativity to show why they love reading. The Foundation is looking for positive messages and artwork that is executed by hand. No computer-generated submissions will be accepted.
The Hempfield Foundation board will select semifinalists for each school level, and these submissions will be shared via the Foundation’s Facebook page. From those selections, the Hempfield community will then have the opportunity to vote on the Hempfield Foundation’s Facebook page for their favorite elementary, middle school, and high school submission during Read Across America month (March 18 – March 25). The winners of each category (Elementary School/Middle School/High School) will be announced on Facebook and Instagram on March 28.
The winning elementary design will be printed and distributed to all elementary students, the winning middle school design will be printed and handed out to all middle school students, and the winning high school design will be available to high school students. In addition, the winners for each category will receive a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

Anchor Club Spring Craft Show
Posted by Kelly Burkholder on 3/4/2024 9:00:00 AMHempfield High School Anchor Club is hosting its third annual craft fair on Saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are looking for Hempfield School District students and faculty, and local artists/makers of the community to participate in this event by applying here: Vendor Fair Application. The proceeds from the table fees and basket raffle sales will go to the Hempfield Clothing Bank.

Kindergarten Orientation Next Week!

Incoming Kindergarten students and parents/guardians are invited to join us for an evening of activities and information gathering.
The event is scheduled from 6-7 PM. Doors will open at 5:30 PM for sign-in and scheduling for the upcoming Kindergarten screening. Our PTO is welcoming you with a cookie snack.
