Spring Sports

The 2009 Spring Season was a perfect example of what constitutes success in Black Knight Athletics:

  • Girls Track and Field was Section 1 and LL League Champion
  • Boys Track and Field was Section 1 and LL League Champion
  • Boys Lacrosse was Section 1 and LL League Champion
  • Boys Volleyball was Section 1 and LL League Champion

Individually on the track, the boys won LL League gold in everything longer than 200 m:  Kevin Hull won the 800 m and 1600 m; Hansel Akers won the 400 m; Kori Meshaw won the 300 Int Hurdles; Matthew Groff won the 3200 m.  Additionally, gold was won in the 4x400 m relay (Joe Santos, Meshaw, AKers, Groff).

For the girls, it was Ang Rothmiller winning LL League gold in the 100 m and 200 m; Spencer Nendza won the Long Jump and Triple Jump; Erin Smith won the Javelin and the 4x100 m relay team of Schuck, Long, Donovan and Rothmiller stood atop the podium.

But wait, there's more.

The boys were at it again a week later, winning the District 3 AAA team championship.  Kevin Hull lead the way again, winning gold in the 800 m and 1600 m.  The 4x400 m relay team, revised to Kori Meshaw, Forrest Moul, Hull and Hansel Akers won again as well.

For the girls, it was Ang Rothmiller winning gold in the 200 m and Korinne Piper winning the 800 m.

The crowning achievement by far, however, was the retirement gift given to head boys track coach Mr. Jeff Bradley:

Key to the team title was individual gold medalst in the Pole Vault, David Patzer.
