high junior varsity levels.
Athletics are recognized as an
integral part of the total educational program of the Hempfield School
District. The first and foremost purpose of the Hempfield School District is to provide
| | the best education for our
student athletes. Athletics are an extension of the academic
curriculum. Athletics contribute to the physical, social, emotional and
moral development of the students involved. Since it is a
privilege to participate on extracurricular teams, each student athlete
carries with them responsibilities and expectations set forth by the
PIAA and the Hempfield Board of School Directors. Our
goal is to develop highly competitive athletes without losing sight of
the educational process and its values of sportsmanship, health, and
scholastic achievement. To
date in 2008-2009, varsity teams combined for 7 LL League Titles, 2
District 3 Titles and a PIAA Championship in Boys Track. With the
victory by Boys Track in 2009, Hempfield's teams have won 10 PIAA
titles over the past 10 years. |
